Kashmir, once known for its tranquillity and peace, has lost its pristine image and now all that is to be witnessed are the dark pathways and roads drenched in human blood. The Paradise is lost, once again.
Just yesterday, in the busy market of Amira Kadal, a young girl roamed, having no idea that these were her final steps to walk alive. She must have had a myriad of dreams as she had recently qualified 12th standard examinations with flying colours.
However, it was today morning when the news of her premature death surfaced on the media outlets. She had succumbed to the injuries sustained in a grenade attack that was lobbed in the middle of this busy market.
Even an elderly man passed away on the Sunday while sustaining injuries in this ominous incident. He hailed from the Makhdoom Sahib area & might have been there to buy something back home. Though his belongings might have reached the next of his kin but he himself never returned home alive.
This is a bleak picture of the uncertainty in Kashmir and how common people, irrespective of their faiths, have paid the huge prices. The collateral damage has been immense & the intensity of mindless violence has always destroyed lives & families together.
The situation faced by a common man is muddled. For how long will this loss of lives continue to exist? Shall there be any respite now & would the saner voices prevail? We hope the answer is positive so that we can go back to our nostalgic era & relive the days of the golden past.
