BANDIPORA, Sep 12: Naseer Lone, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for Bandipora constituency, made bold statements on Thursday, asserting that the Awami Ittihad Party (AIP) will soon transform into a new Hurriyat-like entity in Kashmir.
While addressing reporters after submitting his nomination papers at the Assistant Returning Officer’s office in Bandipora-A, Lone stated that with the emergence of BJP, the Hurriyat has ceased to exist in the valley. However, he warned that it may be reborn through the AIP.
Lone also addressed skepticism regarding BJP’s influence in Bandipora, stating that the party has successfully secured mandates in all three constituencies of the district. “This is a clear response to those who claim the BJP has no presence on the ground in Bandipora,” he emphasized.
Lone further underscored the BJP’s commitment to the welfare of the people of Kashmir, asserting that the party will continue working for their betterment.
