Except Bandipora all Kashmir districts fall under RED Zone : Admin
Srinagar, August 04: The Jammu and Kashmir administration Tuesday said that all the religious places and places of worship will be open in the erstwhile state from 16 August.
This was announced by Government spokesperson Rohit Kansal who said that large religious gatherings would remain strictly prohibited.
Taking to his Twitter handle Mr. Kansal said, “All religious places and places of worship to open in Jammu & Kashmir from August 16, 2020. Religious processions and large religious gatherings remain strictly prohibited,”.
Meanwhile, In the roaring pandemic of COVID – 19, authorities on Tuesday said that all the districts of Kashmir excluding Bandipore have been declared as Red Zone.
In an order copy that lies with Kashmir Despatch reads, a detailed review of the current COVID situation in Jammu and Kashmir was conducted with the Financial Commissioner, Health Divisional Commissioner, Jammu/Kashmir and other officers, particularly on the following.
An overall assessment of the situation pertaining to the spread of COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir.
The trend in new cases particularly the recent spread/ spike in new cases in view of the continuous movement of persons traveling to J&K and between provinces/ districts.
The risk perception of the Health department vis-a-vis each district and the need to control further spread of COVID-19.
Now, therefore, in the exercise of the powers conferred under section 24 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the undersigned, in his capacity as the Chairperson of the State Executive Committee, hereby orders that the classification of districts into Red, Orange and Green categories for Jammu and Kashmir will be as under.
RED: All districts of Kashmir province, except Bandipora district and Ramban district of Jammu Province.
ORANGE: Kathua, Samba, Bandipora, Reasi, Udhampur, Poonch, Rajouri, and Jammu.
GREEN: Doda and Kishtwar
Except the Lakhanpur Containment Zone on the RED/ Containment Zone with a 500 meter buffer the order reads.
