Amid lockdown, Police arrests 22 drug peddlers in South Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 11 : Amid Kashmir lockdown police on Wednesday claimed to have apprehended 22 drug peddlers from different areas of Awantipora & Srinagar in last 10 days.

Police in a statement said that four of them were arrested from Pampore, 07 from Awantipora, 10 from Tral and another notorious drug peddler was arrested from city centre.

They have been taken into custody and cases under relevant sections of law have already been registered against them.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Pertainally, Kashmir is under lockdown since past one month after Bjp led government removed Article 370 on August 05.
