SRINAGAR, Apr 6: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has strongly criticized the Congress party for its recent statement questioning the relevance of Kashmir, describing it as “shameful” and ignorant of the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers in the region.

Shah emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, asserting that every state and citizen of the country holds equal rights over the region. He highlighted the sacrifices of brave soldiers, particularly from Rajasthan, who have laid down their lives for peace and security in Kashmir.

Blaming what he referred to as the “Italian culture” within the Congress party for its lack of understanding of the essence of India, Shah expressed concern that such statements hurt the sentiments of patriotic citizens who value the unity and integrity of the nation.

“People will certainly answer Congress,” Shah remarked, indicating that the public response to the Congress’s statement would be significant.

Additionally, Shah corrected the Congress’s reference to Article 371, clarifying that it was Article 370 that was abrogated by the Modi government.

He pointed out that such mistakes are unfortunately expected from the Congress, given its history of blunders that have impacted the nation for decades.

Shah’s comments come amidst widespread criticism of the Congress party’s statement, with many calling for accountability and urging the party to retract its remarks. The incident has reignited debates about national unity and the role of political parties in safeguarding it.
