Srinagar, May 15: Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the Baramulla parliamentary constituency, the Union Home Minister will visit Kashmir on Wednesday for two days, sources said.
Sources told Kashmir Despatch that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Kashmir on Thursday for a two-day visit.
Shah’s visit to the valley is seen as a positive development, as he is expected to review the election strategy for the Baramulla and Anantnag-Rajouri constituencies, which are set to go to the polls on May 20 and May 25, respectively, as part of the 7-phase Lok Sabha elections.
During his two-day stay in Kashmir, the Home Minister is likely to meet with various delegations, which could provide an opportunity for the government to engage with the local stakeholders and address their concerns.
