I Sameer Geelani Vice BDC Baramulla request your good offices that R&B Baramulla has always been biased towards village Jalsheeri and this area has always suffered, may it be road connectivity, water supply, irrigation etc.
Jalsheeri is just 4 kms away from main town Baramulla and the main road constructed by PMGSY Deptt. is still left incomplete by the agency at some places and needs maintenance of the completed portion. The link roads of village Jalsheri taking off from PMGSY Road, are in a dilapidated and untrafficable condition.
We have represented a number of times to higher authorities for the said demand and the issue was referred to executing body that is R&B Baramulla and ultimately to AEE sub division Baramulla who never pays heed to get an estimate submitted for the work, in spite of requesting him a number of times and also the demand was endorsed by worthy DDC Baramulla.
The AEE concerned is not deliberately paying any heed towards improvement of our link roads and any one is free to verify it through independent media agency or otherwise that the roads have never been upgraded or macadamized till date.
Whenever we requested R&B Division Baramulla their only response was that there is no drainage system and the drainage system was sanctioned for just a length of 100 ft. The meagre drain length was useless and nothing but holding the money for that work and there wasn’t any obvious practical benefit on ground.
The R&B department isn’t willing to provide drainage system for the reasons best known to them. Instantly after repeated requests they have reportedly released little funds under BADP which cannot fulfil any need.
The R&B department has proposed to build a link road to Panchayat Ghar while as there are just 8 to 10 houses on that road and the main link road serves more than 400 families was ignored. It seems that they are answerable to nobody and they are just following their will without consultation of Block Development Agency.
The OSD Cable was laid on Baramulla Khadniyar main road and the compensation amount was to be spent under norms on the development of road of particular village, which was diverted by the department and spent somewhere else as per their will.
We have full faith in administration of worthy DDC Baramulla and I request to his good self to consider this issue on priority and orders may be issued for resolution of problems faced by downtrodden people of village Jalsheeri. This village being at a stones throw from main town of Baramulla, has been ignored for unknown reasons.
If the matter isn’t resolved on priority the common public shall be forced to come on roads and the sole responsibility of law and order will be on administration.
Moreover, we will be forced to file an RTI to get facts transparent.
I request all the concerned officers to give full consideration to this public demand. Also all media agencies are requested, to visit this area on humanitarian grounds so that the genuine issues are brought to the notice of the administration.
