Ananthnag gunfight : Two soldiers injured, operation on

Srinagar : Two army soldiers were injured in an ongoing gunfight at Makadpora area of Arwani in South Kashmir Ananthnag district on Monday.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that two soldiers were injured in the initial exchange of fire and were rushed to nearby military hospital for treatment. He said that two militants are believed to be trapped in the area added that firing from both sides is on.

Earlier this day Army’s 01 RR, CRPF, SOG cordoned off the Makadpora village of Ananthnag following inputs about presence of some militants in the area.

After few hours siege, hiding militants fired upon searching party leading to gunfight.

When last reports came firing from both sides was on.
