January 03: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Anantnag arrested a drug peddler and seized psychotropic substance from his possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established at KP Chowk, Anantnag intercepted one person identified as Shakeel Ahmad Parray resident of Nundpora Khanbal and recovered 1400 Spasmoproxyvon capsules from his possession.
He has been arrested and shifted to PS Anantnag where he remains in custody.
Case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Anantnag and initiated investigation into the matter.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
