Anganwandi workers block National Highway, demands pending wages

KANGAN: Protesting over pending wages, dozens of Anganwadi workers blocked national highway.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said, Anganwadi workers protested in front of Sub District Magistrate Kangan while demanding pending wages.

“We have not received wages from last six months and we have been working round the clock”, said one of the Anganwadi worker.

The Anganwadi worker added that the authorities should pay our wages as we have a family to feed.

Later on SDM Kangan and SHO kangan assured them that their pending wages will be released in short time, following which Anganwadi workers dispersed from the scene.
