Srinagar, August 06 : Militants Thursday morning shot at and injured a BJP sarpanch in Vessu area of South Kashmir’s Qazigund.
The injured sarpanch has been identified as Sajad Ahmad Khanday.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said militants this morning opened fire on him near his house, resulting in injuries to him, however he was rushed to nearby hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, whole area has been cornoded off by forces to nab the attackers.
Pertinently, This is second attack on BJP leaders since past two days, earlier a leader from Kulgam was injured in militant attack.
