Date:

KD Desk

Days after former minister Syed Altaf Bukhari was expelled for his anti-party activities, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on today suffered one more setback when its zonal president for Habbakadal constituency Jeelani Kumar resigned from basic membership of the party.

In a resignation letter to PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, Kumar said that, I have decided to resign from party as Zonal President of Habbakadal Assembly Constituency as well as its primary membership. He said that, in view of the Present Political Circumstances especially the way party leadership is running its affairs, I hereby tender resignation from my basic membership of the Party.

He said that, I am resigning from the basic membership of the PDP along with my committee. He said that, After Mufti Sahab’s death, the vision and mission of the party suffered a setback, the PDP-led government ignored Habbakadal Constituency Particularly. He said that PDP’s Foundation was laid to end the dynasty rule in Kashmir, however slowly and steady this party also became a family party. I no longer have the feeling that this is the same idealistic party created by late Mufti Muhammad Syed, whose sole concern was the Kashmir and its people, he said.

Kumar is yet to finnalize his future course of actions , but said that he will work for the people of the area.
