Kishtwar/June 23, 2021: Following a complaint from one person stating therein that his minor daughter (name withheld) aged about 13 years
(approximately) was allegedly raped, police arrested one person namely Kamran Najjar from Kishtwar.
The accused is lodged in police custody, and a case FIR 137/2021 under 376/IPC & 4 POCSO Act has been registered in Police Station Kishtwar. Subsequently, an investigation has been set into motion.
The police said that during the course of investigation, SSP Kishtwar Sh. Shafqat Hussain Batt-JKPS, constituted a special team under the supervision of Addl. SP Kishtwar Sh. Rajinder Singh led by Dy.SP Devindar Singh Bandral, and assisted by Insp Abid Bukhari SHO PS Kishtwar. The investigating team on finding substance in the complaint, acted swiftly and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of heinous crime. Further investigation into the matter is going on.
“The general Public is requested to co-operate with police in curbing social crimes in their respective neighborhoods. They can share information pertaining to social crimes with police. We assure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue,” SSP Kishtwar, Shafqat Hussain Batt said, while requesting the people.
