In a second killing of its kind in the last couple of days, suspected militants on Saturday killed a youth in Shopian district, hours after kidnapping him from Saidapora area in south Kashmir district.
A police officer told that the militants kidnapped Huzaif Ashraf (19) alias ‘Raja Kandur’ son of Mohammad Ashraf of Manzgam Kulgam on Saturday morning.
Huzaif’s throat-slit body was recovered from an orchard in Landoora village in Harmain Shopian on Saturday afternoon, he said.
After completion of medico-legal formalities, police handed over the body of Huzaif to his family for conducting last rites.
“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in the concerned Police Station and investigation has been initiated in the matter,” the officer said.
The killing comes nearly two days after a bullet-riddled body of a youth Nadeem Manzoor was recovered at Nikloora village of Pulwama district.
Manzoor was abducted by the militants from his native village of Safanagri Shopian on Thursday evening and his body recovered around 12 in the midnight.
