Sopore : The ADGP of Police Vijay Kumar Sunday said that anyone found involved in instigating the youth or disturbing the peace in Kashmir will be dealt with according to the law.
According to Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, Vijay Kumar was speaking on the sidelines of a cricket match here in Baramulla.
He said that the recent detentions of religious personalities in Kashmir were made on the basis of their involvement in anti-national activities.
“We had earlier called them for counseling and asked them to stay away from anti national activities. We have strong evidences against them but these didn’t stay away from such activities and were booked under PSA,” he said.
On being asked if more such detentions will be done in coming days, Vijay Kumar said that whosoever ever will be found disturbing the peace in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, will be dealt accordingly.
“We appeal people to maintain law and order in the valley as maintaining social order is duty of every single person,” he added.
Pertinently, noted religious clerics, Moulana Abdul Rasheed Dawoodi and Mushtaq Ahmad Veeri were booked under PSA, while popular religious preacher Sarjan Barkati was also arrested in Shopian by police.
