Srinagar, September 29: Apni Party leader and incharge Zadibal constituency Irfan Naqeeb on Tuesday urged the J&K government for rehabilitation of street vendors/hawkers of Soura who earn their livelihood in the vicinity of SKIMS hospital.

In a statement issued here, Naqeeb stated the hawkers and street vendors of the Soura have been running their business at the roadside near SKIMS, Soura for the last many decades and are dependent on this business for their livelihood.

Talking to a delegation of hawkers and street vendors who had called on Naqeeb at Apni party office in Lal Chowk Srinagar, Naqeeb expressed
solidarity with the members of the delegation and assured that all possible help would be extended to them for their early rehabilitation.

Naqeeb urged the J&K government that since 5th August, 2019 followed by COVID-19 pandemic the street vendors and hawkers especially that
from Soura have been hit the worst. “The district administration must immediately intervene into this issue and provide them shops on the analogy of Lal Chowk street vendors,” he added.
