Srinagar, 29 July: Apni Party District Youth President Srinagar, Mohsin Zaffar Shah on Thursday appealed to Lt. Governor to provide incentives in the purchase of electric vehicles in Srinagar.
In a statement issued here, Shah said that the fuel prices have risen and that people are unable to pay such increases, which is causing citizens’ economic conditions to deteriorate.
“The impact of rising petrol and diesel prices on the average person’s wallet necessitates a well-thought-out strategy for laying out a path to a greener, cleaner future.”, he added.
Shah observed that the purchase of e-vehicles has increased in District Srinagar, but it must be dealt with with the aid of the government, as it is in other states across the country and emphasised the government’s role in taking essential steps in the protection of the environment.
He stated that the incentives will instil substantial trust in the customer, resulting in a reduction in the city’s carbon footprint.
Shah asserted that Srinagar has seen a huge inflow of visitors and inter-district travellers with vehicles, which has had a gradual influence on the climate.
