We always wanted tough competition on ground, want people to participate in polls: Ashok Koul

Srinagar, Mar 10 : The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said that the newly launched ‘Apni party’ by former finance minister Syed Altaf Bukhari is the combination of three existing political parties.
BJP’s General Secretary (Organization), Ashok Koul as per wire service— stated that ‘Apni party’ is an abbreviation and it stands with ‘Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), National Conference (NC) and Indian National Congress (INC)’, saying that one among these parties (AAP) is not the part of the new united group of leaders.
Koul who was addressing media persons today at a local hotel in Srinagar said that it is a welcome step that a new political party has been launched and the party (BJP) is not against it.
“We always want tough competition in the field. We want people in Kashmir to participate in the polls,” he said while replying to a query.
Koul who was accompanied by the former minister Ashish Kohli and other BJP leaders said that “I was being frequently asked by the media persons about the political process in Kashmir. Therefore, it is happiest moment for me that political process by these leaders has been started in Kashmir. When political process is started, the grievances of people are being addressed.”
Meanwhile, BJP conducted a meeting with Gujjar and Bakarwals. Koul while addressing the meeting said that people of Schedule Caste (SC) have always been ignored by previous governments including NC, Congress and PDP. “So, our teams should reach to them,” Koul said.
Koul stressed on party leaders to strengthen the organization at gross roots level. “Our worker cadre should reach to every poor and last man of the society to help them without any cast, color and creed. These people should get the advantages from our centre sponsored schemes,” he said.
Former Minister, Ashish Kohli, during his speech said that the workers should become medium for centre and J&K Sponsored Schemes.
He also said SC people are always at back so it is the moral duty to bring them on first line by facilitating them about these Schemes reported KNO.
