Militant associate held, arms and ammunition recovered in Kupwara : Police

Kupwara, June 01 : Police on Monday claimed to have recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Police in a statement said, Kupwara Police received a specific input that one Mohd Hafeez Raina s/o Safi ur Rehman Raina R/o Amrohi, Karnah has received a consignment of some incriminating material from across the border and has been assigned the job to deliver it to the unknown millitant organisation in the valley.

Upon this information a team of Police from Police Post Taad apprehended the above named suspected person and conducted search of the area which led to the recovery of following incriminating material 10 Grenades,o4 Wireless Sets, Rounds AK 47 200.

In this regard a case FIR No. 40/2020, U/s 7/25 IA Act and section 13 UA(P) Act. in PS Karnah has been registered. Further investigations going on the statement reads.
