Srinagar : Skill Saathi Workshop was conducted as a joint venture by Army in Tangdhar & National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) at Army Goodwill School Hajinar from 03-04 Dec 2019.
Dheya foundation on behalf of NSDC had conducted the two day career counselling workshop attended by 165 students of various schools between Class VII & Class X.
The workshop included career counselling of groups and also at an individual level. The aspirations of Kashmiri youth was the focal point of the programme which aimed at matching individual skill sets with career ambitions.
The modules of the work shop ranged from interactive sessions, personality identification psychometric tests to one to one sessions during which the students were counselled on boosting their strengths, overcoming their weakness and aligning their aspirations with their strengths.
Team NSDC comprised of Counsellors, Career development facilitators & coordinators. The team also included two retired officers from the Indian Armed Forces.
The programme ended with the address of the Commander of Military Garrison Tangdhar followed by the students seeking information about more such opportunities aimed at identifying their potential.
The Army has planned more such ventures for youth empowerment in Tangdhar to facilitate prevalence of peace in this area which is located on the Line of Control.
