Army organised KWPL concludes in Varmul

Baramulla : Army’s 59 Regiment Dagger Gunners Baramulla organised Women’s Premier League (KWPL) concluded on Saturday.

According to Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, eight women cricket teams from parts of Kashmir participated in the tournament which was played at Jehlum sports stadium in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The final match was played between Baramulla and Ananthnag in which Ananthnag women’s team emerged as winner.

The final match was witnessed by large gathering of people.

Pertinently, Large number of villagers across Baramulla belt came to witness these matches and were happy and expressed their gratitude for this new initiative by the Indian Army.

GOC 19 Div. SSP Baramulla, besides officials from civil sector were present on the occasion.

On the closing ceremony all the players were felicitated.
