Army’s Volleyball premier league concludes in Kupwara

Kupwara: Army’s 8 sector organized a volleyball tournament at Cherkoote area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district concluded on Thursday.


An army official told Kashmir Despatch students and youth of the neighboring villages participated in the tournament showing gusty performances.


Officer said the tournament that had started on 24 February received an overwhelming response of 8 teams from various villages under the aegis of 8 Sector.


The final match was played between the Divar Lolab and Puthsai. Both the teams showcased their immense talent but Divar Lolab performed better and won the final match official added.


Besides, cash prizes, trophies. were awarded to the players by 8 Sector Commander Neeraj Sharma, who attended the event as the Chief Guest.


Meanwhile, the players talking with Kashmir Despatch said such tournaments should be conducted in the near future also because games and sports are the best means of fitness. They said Conducting various sports activities strengthen the bond and generate goodwill among the youth.
