SRINAGAR, Mar 26: The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, said that after the abrogation of Article 370, the terror mindset has completely changed in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. In the past, the region had only suffered and around 40,000 youth had been killed due to the misguidance of Pakistan.
In an interview with a TV channel, Shah stated that Jammu and Kashmir has moved towards a path of peace, development, and prosperity in the last five years. The region has emerged from the grip of terrorism.
He further mentioned that terrorism has almost been eradicated and instances of stone pelting have reduced to zero. The anti-corruption bureau is actively working to prevent corruption and ensure that people’s money is not misused. After a gap of 33 years, the people of Jammu and Kashmir are now able to enjoy movies in cinemas during the night.
Shah highlighted that this is the first time in 30 years that a Muharram procession took place in the streets of Kashmir. Additionally, during the G-20 summit, people from across the world visited Kashmir.
The Union Home Minister elaborated that, after 33 years, people in the Union Territory are living in a peaceful environment. Development has reached their doorstep, and they have overcome terrorism. The celebration of Har Ghar Tiranga, Formula car racing, flag hosting at Lal Chowk, and the successful Amarnath Yatra, which witnessed the participation of around 5 lakh pilgrims, are all indications of the positive transformation in Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370.
Speaking about the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, Shah expressed confidence that the electorate would replace the politics of dynasty and support the Lotus symbol (the Bharatiya Janata Party’s symbol).
He further stated that in this election, people will choose their own representatives and send a strong message to those who have propagated the language of Pakistan until now.
Regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Srinagar, Shah mentioned that the massive turnout in the rally was not just to see Modi but to welcome him in the spirit of “Naya Kashmir” (New Kashmir).
He emphasized that their immediate goal is not merely achieving success in Kashmir but gradually establishing a strong connection with the people. With their support, the Lotus (BJP symbol) will bloom in Kashmir.
He said that 370 is not just a number, but it is connected to a lot of achievements, especially in the changing scenario in Jammu and Kashmir. Peace has replaced terrorism, and this has connected Kashmir with Bharat. The Bharatiya Janata Party has set a target to achieve seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with this 370 number.
Shah said that our strategy is clear – we have propelled our nation forward with development and prosperity. Today, India is a hub of manufacturing in the world.
