Jammu, July 13, : Over ruling the fixation of fee for professional colleges, by State Fee Structure Committee, ASCOMS College Jammu, has asked the students selected for MBBS, to submit a fee, which is highly exaggerated in contrast to the fee fixed by the committee.
Students selected under the Management category in ASCOMS, a professional college based in Sidhra Jammu, who visited news agency told that the students selected for MBBS course under this category, for which Fee Structure Committee of the State, under order number 659-HME of 2019, dated 10-07-2019, the copy of which is lying with CNS, has revised the fee from Rs.4, 50,000 to Rs. 4, 95,000 per annum, but they are being asked to deposit Rs.6, 54,000 instead by the college management, which is Rs 1, 59, 000 excess than the fixed fee amount for the said course.
In addition to this, the above said students alleged that they are being asked to submit a bank guarantee against the fee for remaining sessions, which is a huge amount and is difficult for them to submit
When contacted, Financial Commissioner Atal Dulloo, who has signed the order, was unavailable to comment; however Shafqat Khan, OSD Health and Medical Education told CNS that these students should approach the Chairman of State Fee Structure Committee, Justice (Retd.) Muzzaffar Jan with their complaint, who is the relevant authority to look into the matter and redress their grievances.
“15th of July 2019 has been set as the last day for submission for fee by the college and the students who have been selected for the above said course, have no idea about what to do, in the given situation”, the students said.
