Attempt to torch Govt School in Bandpora: Police registers case against ‘miscreants’

Bandipora, Aug 26 : Police on Thursday registered a case and started investigation after some miscreants tried to torch a government Primary School at Mantrigam village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Officials at the school told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that late last evening some miscreants with an “evil intention” tried to set ablaze the school building at Lonipora, Mantrigam, however, the locals who were attending a marriage party nearby caught the attention when they saw the smoke blowing out and immediately rushed to the building a doused the fire.

He said that the school authorities suspected foul play and later registered the complaint with the police who then filed the FIR bearing number 37/2021 at Pethkoot police station while launching an investigation into the case.

As per the police, the initial investigation suggests “some miscreants” tried to set the building ablaze—(KNO)
