Awantipora 14 November: In order to curb the possible misuse of vehicles for unlawful activities, Awantipora Police has initiated a comprehensive enquiry across the Police District. SDPOs along with SHOs visited all car dealers operating within their respective jurisdictions and checked details regarding the sale and purchase of vehicles by them.
The enquiry also focuses on instances where multiple vehicles have been purchased by a single individual. Officers also ensured proper verification and documentation during their visits.
Car dealers were also advised to maintain proper records of each transaction, including Aadhaar card details, phone numbers, and contact information of both the buyer and the seller, to ensure transparency and accountability in vehicle dealings.
This exercise aims to strengthen surveillance mechanisms and ensure that vehicles are not being utilized for any anti-social or illegal activities.
SSP Awantipora, while speaking on the occasion, said that such preventive measures are essential to ensure that vehicles are not misused by anti-social or anti-national elements. He further emphasized that public cooperation and dealer vigilance play a crucial role in maintaining law and order.
