Sopore : In a bid to create awareness among the youth regarding the ugly effects of drug addiction, an awareness programme on themed “Soun Watan Drug Free” was held in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Saturday.

The organizers on the occasion said that Drug Addiction is a serious problem which is required to be addressed and it is moral duty of one and all to contribute for its eradication. They said that the aim of the conducting such events is to make students aware about the increasing virus of drug addiction.

On the occasion the head of the organizers Kashif Tariq said the main aim to conduct the programme is to inculcate the awareness among the students and smokers about the drug addiction with the sole objective to eradicate the drug menace from the valley especially from Sopore town.

The Famous Kashmiri artist Shafi Sopori was chief guest on the occasion, besides patron ISS coaching centre Sameer Ahmed was present on the occasion.
Addressing large gathering Sameer Ahmed said that youths need to be attached in the co-curricular activities so that they will be away from this increasing virus. He said that lack of quality relationship between the parents and their children is a major reason for drug abuse among youths in the Valley.
