Awareness Programme on Women Empowerment organised in B’la

Baramulla, March, 09: A day long Legal awareness programme was today organised by District Social Welfare Office Baramulla in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Baramulla at Dak Bungalow under the theme ‘ Towards Empowering Women’.

At the outset, the representatives of  DLSA Baramulla highlighted that the main objective of organizing this programme is to uplift the women and empower them so that they compete with  every challenges they face in their lives. 

They said DLSA Baramulla is providing Legal Aid to many women on daily basis and apprised the gathering about basic rights of women and schemes available for them in legal institutions as well as in other line departments.

On the occasion,  District Social Welfare Officer Baramulla, Showkat Ahmad Showkat while addressing the gathering highlighted the role of women in the lives of people and their contribution towards society. He emphasised that women need to be confident in empowering themselves as they are the ones who shape the society.

District Information Officer Baramulla, Jahangeer Akhoon also spoke on the occasion and  highlighted the role and contribution of women in the society. He said the purpose of celebrating the Day is to highlight and recognise the contributions of women in the society and raise awareness about gender equality.
