Sopore, August 13 : The residents of Nowpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district are suffering baldy due to the pathetic condition of a link road.
Talking with Kashmir Despatch the residents claimed that the concerned Roads and Buildings (R&B) authorities have forgotten to repair the road which is lying in shambles.
They said that many times authorities were approached but nothing positive happened on the ground. They said three inner link roads including Naik Mohalla, War-Mohalla, and Yatoo Mohalla are in duplicated conditions, and whenever its raining many vehicles get trapped during rains and also slip some times, inviting avoidable accidents.
At several places, there are huge potholes which are 2-3 feet deep and these holes are not been repaired for a long time. One gets bone-shattering experience all the way while passing through these roads. These holes also cause severe waterlogging the residents claimed.
Meanwhile, an R&B official at Sopore Division told Kashmir Despatch that almost all roads are macadamized in the town however if any link road is incompleted will be macdamised once funds will be released. He said in many areas people are complaining, but the government is working hard to redress their Issues at the earliest.
