Bandipora, Mar. 14: A massive plantation drive was carried out by the social forestry department under the Green India Mission in Ashtangoo village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday.
Speaking with the reporters on the sidelines of this occasion as per Kashmir Despatch, the Joint Director of Planning Bandipora, Imtiyaz Ahmad, said that four lakh trees will be planted across the district of Bandipora during the year 2023.
He expressed the essence of such drives to sensitize people towards the environment and laid emphasis on the conservation of nature and natural resources in order to ensure the transformation of a legacy to future generations.
“Forests play an important role in saving our ecosystem; we should protect and save them”, he added.
