Bandipora family catches extortionist Handed over to police

BANDIPORA, Feb 1: In an incident of extortion, a family on Friday evening handed over a person to police who had barged in their house along with his two associates demanding Rs 25000 from the family.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that three veiled persons with sharp edges daggers had entered the house of a shopkeeper Ghulam Rasool Ganie son of Mohammed Maqbool Ganaie resident of Kunan Bandipora threatning all the members of dire consequences if they fail to pay ransom money Rs 25000 immediately.

However, the family members mustered courage and captured them inside the room but two veiled persons managed to escpae from the spot while one out of the three alleged extortionists namely Ajaz Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Jabbar Sheikh resident of Ward No.05 Bandipora was caught by the family and handed over to police.

Meanwhile SSP Bandipora Sheikh Zulfikar Azad when contacted told this newspaper that a team has been sent to the spot to verify the incident.
