“Locals raised questions demands to constitute of fair team to investigate the matter”

Bandipora, Aug 24: After bundles of medicines found destroyed and blazed in a trench of Primary health center Chontimulla area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district block, medical officer Bandipora set up a committee to investigate the issue.
The order copy available with Kashmir Despatch issued by Block Medical Officer Bandipora wide order no BMOB/Estt/2024/515-17 reads Dr. Asif Iqbal Medical officer, Dr Hina Medical officer posted in PHC Chontimulla, Dr. Zulfi posted in PHC Chnotimulla and Mushtaq Ahmad CHO Bandipora will be part of an investigation team who will investigate the matter.

The order further reads a prompt investigation was conducted by this team and no such funding was observed during the inspection.
The order has been criticized by the local population of the areas who raised questions like how can a doctor be part of a team who is posted in the hospital where these medicines were found.
“What law is this? If I am doing wrong, how can I be a part of the investigation against myself? We appeal to authorities to constitute a fair team who will investigate this matter properly,” DDC Arin Gh Mohi -ud-din Rather told Kashmir Despatch.
He hoped that the matter will be taken seriously by Director health services Kashmir and district administration Bandipora and action will be taken against those who willg be found involved in this illegal practices.
Meanwhile the Director health services Kashmir while speaking with the Kashmir Despatch said that a team from another district will review the inquiry report and if needed escalate further.
