Bandipora villagers complain of being forced to use contaminated water

Bandipora ; Amid an acute water crisis, the villagers of Gundjahengeer area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district have complained of being forced to use contaminated water from nearby streams.

Talking to Kashmir Despatch the villagers said Jal Shakti department has failed to provide them safe drinking water.

They alleged that department forced us to consume dirty water from nearby streams.

Mohammad Maqbool a local resident said it’s shame on the department for inconveniencing to the people on the auspicious occasion of Eid.

He said depsite approached many times department has failed to redress this geneuine issue.

The residents of Gundjahengeer alleged that there were high chances of an outbreak of water-borne diseases in the area.

They said that they had taken the matter to the department many times but to avail.

However, requested the administration to redress their grievance so that they too get clean drinking water.
