Srinagar, Feb 18 : The newly elected Chairperson of District Development Council Baramulla, Safina Beigh on Tuesday met Chief Engineer PDD and raised different issues related to electricity in north Kashmir with him.
Beigh confirmed her meeting with Chief Engineer, ” I raised different issue of the baramulla distrcit, including receiving station for wagora Watergam, more importantly briefed him about categorization of electricity, subsidy to weaker section of society. The department should subside the power bills, just like we have UT Delhi. I will also soon raise this issue with UT administration to provide subsidised electricity,” she said.
She added jurisdiction of DDC Chairperson and powers have not been defined yet “still I will soon have a meeting of my DDC members to discuss the future roadmap for the welfare and development in the district, “she added.
She also urged the district administration Baramulla to access the damage caused due to recent earthquake and compensate to the affected persons.
” Yesterday I asked the Deputy Commissioner Baramula to access the loss of recent earthquake”, she added I will also have meetings with administration in each block to ensure the grassroot level development in the district, safina said.( KNS)
