Baramulla, Mar 18 : The Senior superintendent police of Baramulla Amod Ashok Nagpure (IPS) on Monday said the arrangements have been made to ensure a fear-free and fair election in the Baramulla district for the upcoming LS elections.
Addressing a press conference at Dak Bunglow Baramulla as per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, Nagpure stated that the police and district administration are working together to create a level playing field for all political parties and encourage active participation from the public.
He said the goal is to encourage active participation and exercise of voting rights in an atmosphere devoid of intimidation, leading to an increase in the voting percentage and the expression of democratic rights.
The SSP Baramulla said that people will be encouraged to step out of their homes without fear and exercise their voting rights.
He said security arrangements have also been made, with a requisition for CAPF being submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs and deployment of J&K Police and State Armed forces already in place.
Nagpure emphasized that strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to spread fear or intimidation and all polling stations have been categorized as critical given the security situation and border sharing with Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
