Srinagar: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said that winning or losing of Bharatiya Janta Party was not the end of the world.
The former BJP ally and PDP president was commenting on the exit polls that have predicted a BJP victory in the Lok Sabha elections.
The only female chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir while taking to her Twitter praised the system and journalists that stood up and raised their voices, “BJP winning or losing isn’t the end of the world. True that institutions were subverted & press standards plummeted.Yet many in the system & journalists with integrity stood up & raised their voices. Hope these results don’t deter their resolve to fight for what’s right.” she wrote.
Exit polls have predicted another term for sitting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ruling alliance led by Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
National Democratic Alliance (NDA), BJP-led alliance is projected to win 287 seats in the 545-member lower house of parliament, called the Lok Sabha, followed by 128 for the Indian National Congress party-led opposition alliance, CVoter exit poll said on Sunday.
