Black Bear Captured Alive in Anantnag’s Akingam

Anantnag, Nov 8 : A black bear was captured alive by a Wildlife Department team in Akingam Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday morning.

A Wildlife Department official told GNS that on receiving information about the sighting of a black bear along human habitation, a team of experts from range office Achabal was sent to the area last evening.

“Searches to locate the bear were made and in the meantime a trap laid in the area”, the official said adding the bear was finally captured this morning without causing any injury to anyone.”

The beast has been been shifted to Daksum Wildlife Sanctuary, the official further said. (GNS)
