Blast like sound heard in Kupwara, police verifying

Kupwara, Nov 25 : Panic gripped in north Kashmir’s Kupwara on Tuesday after blast like sound were heard.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said a blast like sound heard in Nutnusa near pandit colony which created tense in the area.

Sources informed Kashmir Despatch sound heard was like a grenade attack, however no loss of life or any injury was reported in the attack.

Meanwhile, SSP Kupwara Sriram Ambarikar told Kashmir Despatch that a sound was heard which police is verifying. He said likely it was fire cracker. The officer said a cordon and search operation has been launched in the area.

Pertinently, ahead of DDC elections, militants posters were pasted in parts of north Kashmir, threatening candidates to sideline from the election.
