KCCI, Bank of Maharashtra Hold Vital Meeting in J&K

SRINAGAR, July 04: In a significant effort to boost the economy of Jammu and Kashmir and establish strong ties with the business community, the Bank of Maharashtra held a crucial meeting with the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) in Srinagar.
The meeting witnessed the presence of esteemed individuals, including Javid Ahmed Tenga, President of KCCI, Ashaq Hussain Shangloo, Senior Vice President, and Faiz Ahmad Bakshi, Secretary General of KCCI.
Representing the Bank of Maharashtra were S. K Trivedi, Zonal Manager, Ritu Singh, Senior Manager at Bank of Maharashtra Lal Chowk, and Puneet Kahaptia, Manager Credit at Bank of Maharashtra.
The primary focus of the meeting was to introduce customer-friendly banking practices in the Kashmir valley on behalf of the Bank of Maharashtra. The heads of the bank assured their commitment to provide all necessary assistance to expand their customer base in the valley, acknowledging its tremendous potential for business growth.
During the discussions, the members of KCCI raised the issue of MSME loans and other financing options for small business enterprises. The bank authorities assured the KCCI representatives that they would explore these opportunities with utmost dedication & shall assiduously engage with such business community members.
Another crucial topic discussed during the meeting was the establishment of Controlled Atmosphere (CA) stores in the valley. With a potential capacity of four lakh metric tonnes in the valley, these stores can significantly contribute to resolving the challenges faced by local farmers and orchardists whose fruits otherwise go off within few days after fruit picking.
In a gesture of solidarity and commitment, Mr. Trivedi, the Zonal Manager, presented a bouquet to Mr. Javid Ahmad Tenga, President of KCCI, affirming the Bank of Maharashtra’s resolution to expand its business operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
This collaborative effort between the KCCI and the Bank of Maharashtra aims to foster a thriving business ecosystem in J&K, promoting economic growth and providing valuable support to local entrepreneurs and enterprises.
