What is more worrisome is that over 400 students from Jammu and Kashmir are stuck in different cities of Iran. Sofar these students are said to be safe but they apprehend that if not evacuated soon, they may get contaminated.

The Jammu and Kashmir government led by the Lieutenant Governor should take cognizance of the SOS by these students who have appealed the government of India for their safe evacuation. A major chunk of these stranded students are studying in Tehran and Shiraz.

Besides these students many businessmen and pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir who visit the holy cities of Iran have got stuck. The J&K students who study in Tehran Medical University and Shiraz University of Medical Sciences have already sent their details to the Indian embassy in Tehran calling for immediate help.

Need of the hour is that government of India must intervene at the highest level and arrange charted flights for these students and a separate quarantine facility for them.

Reports reaching here said that one new case of coronavirus has also been reported from each of the provinces of Fars and Khorasan, Razavi, as well as Qeshm Island on Tuesday.

Till these stranded students of J&K are safely evacuated the government of India must ask its Embassy in Iran to act proactively and provide necessary assistance to these students stranded in Shiraz and Tehran cities. The Lieutenant Governor should use his good office to expedite help to these students form the ministry of external affairs government of India on top priority. Else if these students get infected and are brought back at later stage, the same can create huge number of problems for the state apparatus.
