Broadband internet services restored in 80 government run hospitals: Police

Date:

Broadband internet service has been restored in government-run 80 hospitals on Thursday in Kashmir, after over four-and-a-half months of suspension.

A top police official said that the broadband internet service was restored in all major hospitals across the valley soon after the orders from the administration.

He said broadband internet services in all medical colleges and in its associated hospitals was also restored.

Taking to social networking site Twitter, Kashmir zone Police wrote: “#Broadband #highspeed #Internet connectivity restored at 80 #Government #Hospitals including #Health centres & offices linked to #Department of Health across #Kashmir Valley.

On Tuesday, the government announced that the broadband internet service would be restored in government-run hospitals and SMS facility on all mobiles from Tuesday midnight in Kashmir.

However the SMS service worked from December 31 midnight only on BSNL postpaid phones. It was not working in Jio, Airtel and Vodafone connections. Airtel officials said they had received communication from the government on restoration of SMS service on postpaid phones but due to technical flaw they were unable to restore SMS service.

The internet services, landline and mobile phones were snapped across Jammu and Kashmir on August 5 in view of abrogation of Article 370.
