Bukhari pays glowing tributes to the martyrs of 1931

Srinagar: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday reiterated that the party is committed to fighting for the political and economic empowerment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to a statement issued here, Bukhari was addressing a meeting at the party’s central office in Srinagar on Wednesday. On this occasion, DDC member Devsar (B) Riyaz Ahmad Bhat joined the Apni Party. He joined the party along with a large group of his workers and supporters. Bukhari and other leaders greeted the new entrants into the party fold.

The prominent party leaders who were present on the occasion, include senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir, Chairman Parliamentary Committee of the party Mohammad Dilawar Mir, General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, Provincial President Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Party’s Chief Coordinator Abdul Majid Paddar, Party State Secretary Muntazir Mohidin, and Media Advisor Farooq Andrabi. Party leaders and senior workers from Kulgam were also present at the meeting. They were: Gul Mohammad Tantray, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Abdul Hameed Bakhshi, Riyaz Ahmad Dar, Fayaz Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Asif, and others

While addressing the meeting, Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari paid glorious tributes to the martyrs of 1931 on their 91st anniversary, today. He said, “This day reminds us of the sacrifices of our ancestors who laid their lives while fighting the autocracy. They fought the rulers because they did not want to live like slaves on their own land. We can never forget the sacrifices of these martyrs. This day is the most significant day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.”

He added, “Apni Party upholds the mission of these martyrs even today in terms of our fight for the restoration of democracy and democratic institutions in Jammu and Kashmir.”

The Apni Party leader urged the Union government to restore statehood to J&K as soon as possible. He said, “The restoration of statehood to J&K is of utmost importance because returning the statehood would pave the way for the restoration of all other democratic rights to the people of J&K.”

He said the Apni Party will continue its endeavor to protect the rights of the people and we will not leave any stone unturned to ensure political and economic empowerment of the J&K people.

Welcoming the DDC member Devsar (B) Riyaz Ahmad Bhat and his supporters into the party fold Bukhari said, “I wholeheartedly welcome you into the Apni Party. I assure you that the party leadership will stand by all of you while you are working for the people, who have great faith in our party.”
