Sopore, Sep 28: Police in north Kashmir’s Sopore on Monday claimed to have arreste a burglar who was behind the recent theft in the town.

In a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch police said on 04 September 2020 Police Station Sopore received an information that during intervening night of 03/04 September 2020 two shops of main market sopore were looted and locks of many others were broken by unknown thieves/burglars.

Upon receipt of this information case FIR No. 243/2020 stands registered in Police Station Sopore.

To nab the culprits a special team was constituted, which has raided at many suspicious places and detained various suspects for questioning, Police team has also obtained CCTV footage of occurance and after hectic and stern efforts and with the assistance of traders association Sopore police team has arrested one Pervaiz Ahmad Syed S/O Ghulam Ahmad Syed R/O Narayan Bagh shadipora Ganderbal who has confessed the commission of offence since the accused was from other district which resulted in delay in tracing out the accused, further arrests are likely and investigation is going on in the instant case.
