Baramulla : Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, the chairperson of the Waqf Board, has emphasized that Ramadan cannot be a victim of political disputes or committees.
Speaking to reporters during her visit to Baramulla as per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, she expressed her commitment to avoiding any confusion regarding the sighting of the crescent moon and announced the establishment of the Waqf board’s own Ruet-e-Hilal Committees before next Eid.
“We cannot do politics over Ramadan,” said Dr. Andrabi.
“Inshallah, next Eid, we will have our own Ruet-e-Hilal Committees.”
She also noted that the days of checking the crescent moon from across the borders were over and that the Waqf board would take steps to ensure a clear and reliable system.
