Local Population leaves the area for safer places.
Srinagar, October 1, : India on Tuesday accused Pakistan for violating ceasefire in Shahpur and Kirni Sectors in Poonch district of Jammu Division.
Officials said that Pakistan army started shelling Indian side at 7.45 am on Tuesday, which was effectively replied.
Sources told that heavy artillery fire was used by the sides against each other, which forced, which has forced population to flee from various areas adjacent to LoC and to move to safer places.
Earlier heavy cross LoC shelling was reported from Hira Nagar, Kuthua, Poonch and Rajouri sectors in Jammu region, which continued for many days without any let up, turning LoC into a battle field.
In Hira Nagar and Kathua sectors, people were forced to leave their homes and to move to safer places. Schools in these areas were also shut down by the authorities, while agricultural activities had suffered a great deal.
So far numerous lives of men in uniform have been lost on both sides, including that of many civilians, leaving the population residing near the dividing line in a state of absolute fear. (CNS)
