CEC Kargil reviews pace of developmental works in Silmoo constituency

KARGIL, DECEMBER 04:- Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today reviewed the physical and financial progress   on developmental works in Silmoo Constituency under Capex Budget Plan, BADP and other centrally sponsored schemes here at a meeting of the concerned officers.

Executive Engineers of PHE, I&FC, PMGSY and other sectors besides AEEs, AEs, JEs and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

The CEC took brief from the officers about the pace of work on different ongoing projects as well as the proposed works.

It was informed in the meeting that work on the construction of link road from Gargardo to Dangal, being constructed at a cost of Rs 194.60 lakh, is in full swing and 90% of the project has been completed, while as Rs 25 lakh  has been paid with regard to the construction of link road from Garkone Monastery on account of land and tree compensation.

The officers further informed the CEC that the construction of Foot Bridge at Garkone has been completed at a cost of Rs 120.55 lakhs, while as around 95% repair and construction of Public Health Centre at Batalik and Gargardo has been completed at cost of Rs 28.00 lakhs and 30.00 lakhs respectively.

The CEC directed the concerned to prepare proposals for fencing and necessary repairs of the Hostel Block at Higher Secondary School Silmoo so that the completed structure could be used to provide residential facilities to the students of Batalik and other adjoining areas.

Under I&FC sector it was revealed that work on the remodelling of Mayour Khul Grong Silmoo is being executed at a cost of Rs 265.00 lakhs while as 75% work on the remodelling of Bari Yourba Khul has been completed for which Rs 271.00 lakhs were sanctioned.

Meanwhile, the engineers of PHE sector informed that 90% of work has been completed on the water supply scheme at Chulichan which is estimated to be completed at a cost of Rs 122.00 lacs. They further said that fitting of pipes and collection chamber in respect of Rs 227.00 lacs water supply scheme at Gargardo has also been carried out till now while as the remaining work is being executed in full swing.

The CEC also inquired from the officers about the new schemes proposed under CRF, languishing projects to be funded through JKIDFC and other schemes proposed for State and Central funding.

It was given out that proposals for construction of link road from Silmoo to Sharchay Batalik, construction and up gradation of roads at Garkone and Sanachay, construction of link road from Darchiks to Gargi Pugupa Tharoge construction of 1×56 metres span steel girder bridge over Indus river at Garkone and up gradation and up gradation of link road Lhalung Sandoo have been submitted at a collective cost of Rs 4207.69 lacs.

Regarding the languishing projects, the CEC was informed that projects including the construction of link road Spangstod Lhlaung, link roads at Adam Mohallah and Naranee to Grong Silmoo and several other projects have been proposed for funding through JKIDFC.

The CEC impressed upon the concerned officers to further activate their men and machinery so that work on the ongoing schemes and projects are completed within the stipulated period of time.

He also urged upon them to work with added zeal and enthusiasm in ensuring the completion of projects so that the benefits accrue to the common people in the best possible manner.
