The executive members of the association was informed that in all the districts neither chopan nor Waghey certificates which come under OBC have been issued till date because revenue officials are not able to issue the same due to Waghey – Chopan criteria not being clarified to them.

“ It has been noticed that officials are confused to whom they have to issue the OBC Certificate. We have decided that the Social Welfare Department will be requested for issuance of clearance in this regard while the association has applied for the same in the month of March under application No. 4105654 / CRU / Kmr Dated 25 /03/2024. Chopan Community has also requested the G.D Sharma Commission for issuance of the said clearance Vvde application No 4105644 / CRU / Kmr Dated 25/03/2024” said Mohammad Afzal Chopan

The Chopan Association in its statement said that they have requested the both social welfare department and G D Sharma Commission about the sufferings of the community and they have presented before the Commission on many occasions but some illegitimate Waghey caste people who are not from shepherd community are trying to include themselves in the OBC
