24-12-2025: The Skill and Capacity Development Cell (SCDC) of CIED–IUST Foundation, IUST conducted a Ministry of MSME sponsored Entrepreneurship Awareness Program (EAP) at Noorani Paramedical Training Institute, Pulwama. The program aimed to create awareness among paramedical students about entrepreneurship opportunities, government schemes, funding avenues and institutional support available for promoting entrepreneurial ventures in the healthcare sector.
The program was organized under the leadership of Prof. Parvez A. Mir, CEO, CIED–IUST Foundation. Dr. Darkshan Majid, Coordinator SCDC, delivered a detailed session on the overview of CIED–IUST Foundation and the various schemes offered by the centre. She sensitized the participants about different funding opportunities and schemes of MSME as well as the mentoring support and incubation facilities available through CIED. Dr. Majid interacted with students regarding their innovative ideas and emphasized the importance of skill-oriented courses, particularly in the paramedical field, highlighting their vast potential in healthcare entrepreneurship.
Mr. Farooq Ahmad Dar, Senior Technical Assistant, Department of Food Technology IUST, addressed the gathering and informed participants about the various short-term, skill-oriented courses offered by CIED. He stressed the importance of acquiring practical and industry-relevant skills and encouraged students to take maximum benefit of these programs. He also briefed the participants about the modern facilities available at CIED, which can be utilized by aspiring paramedical entrepreneurs for innovation, research and product development.
The main aim of the program was to create awareness among paramedical students about healthcare entrepreneurship and its future career prospects, thereby fostering a culture of innovation and self-employment in the healthcare sector.
