Ganderbal, Oct 07 : Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh on Wednesday said that a close associate of slain Hibz militant commander Riyaz Naikoo’ was killed in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday evening.
As per Kashmir Despatch DGP addressing a press conference DGP said that a Hibz militant was killed on Tuesday evening in Ganderbal when militants attacked the house of a BJP worker in Nunar area.In the attack one police constable was also injured who later succumbed to his injures.
DGP said that slain militant commander Riyaz Naikoo’s close associate Shbair Ahmad a resident of Awantipora at times he was an OGW then he recently turned into active militancy and after that he was shifted for target hitting by Hibz outfit.
While answering the question regarding Ganderbal as peaceful district, DGP said for militants every district is open and they are shifting from one district to other on instructions of Pakistan.He said coming times, there will be use of more technologies especially on highways.
Taking about Shopian encounter, he said two militants have been killed and after the completion of operation details will be shared.
