Committed to conduct free, fair elections across J&K: CEO Pole

SRINAGAR, Mar 18: P.K. Pole, the Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir, has assured that the administration will ensure free and fair elections across the union territory.

While talking to Kashmir Despatch, Mr. Pole stated that every effort will be made to ensure that the Lok Sabha polls in the Union Territory are conducted in a fair manner.

The CEO J&K urged the voters in Jammu and Kashmir to actively participate in the “festival of democracy”.

He mentioned that various measures have been put in place to facilitate the electoral process, including the completion of electoral roll procedures, logistical requirements, manpower management, risk management, EVM transportation, polling staff, and security arrangements.

The CEO assured that everything has been meticulously planned and the administration is fully prepared to conduct the elections smoothly.

Pole highlighted that there are master trainers and UT level master trainers in every district, with two master trainers being trained in each district.

He stressed that the administration is committed to leaving no stone unturned in ensuring a seamless and fair electoral process in the region. The Jammu and Kashmir Administration is fully prepared for the elections.

The union territory of Jammu and Kashmir consists of five Lok Sabha seats, namely Anantnag, Srinagar, and Baramulla in the Valley, and Udhampur and Jammu in the Jammu region. Additionally, Ladakh also has one Lok Sabha seat.
